Solve linear equations containing fractions -- including a fraction of the variable, a variable in the denominator, two fractional terms, or a fraction set equal to another fraction -- by clearing the fractions using the lowest common denominator.

  • Explain why multiplying every term by the lowest common denominator clears the fractions from an equation.
