Task goals
- Foundation: Complete the square for monic quadratics with integer coefficients, e.g. rewriting $x^2+bx+c$ as $(x+p)^2+q$.
- Proficient: Complete the square for quadratics with a leading coefficient not equal to 1, and use the result to state the turning point of the corresponding parabola.
- Excellence: Use completing the square to solve quadratic equations exactly (including irrational roots), derive the quadratic formula, or solve optimisation problems requiring a vertex-form argument.
