Terms of Use
Last updated: 19 August 2026
1. These terms
These Terms of Use govern your use of Mana Maths (manamaths.co.nz), operated by William McIntosh in New Zealand (“we”, “us”, “our”). By browsing the site or using the Cheeky Kea request builder, you accept these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site. Our Privacy Policy forms part of these terms.
2. The service
Mana Maths provides maths teaching resources aligned to the New Zealand Curriculum — printable worksheets, lesson notes, and answer sheets — plus Cheeky Kea, which turns a teacher’s description into a generated resource. The service is currently provided free of charge. We may add, change, or remove features at any time, and we don’t guarantee the service will always be available or uninterrupted.
3. Accounts
Some features (such as Cheeky Kea) require you to sign in with Google. You’re responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in secure. We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms or misuse the service. You can stop using the service at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account as described in our Privacy Policy.
4. Using our resources — your classroom licence
Unless a resource says otherwise, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to:
- download, print, photocopy, and display our resources for teaching your own students; and
- adapt them for your own classroom use.
You must not:
- sell, rent, or commercially redistribute our resources;
- republish them, or upload them to other websites, publicly shared drives, or resource-sharing platforms, without our written permission;
- remove or obscure Mana Maths attribution;
- use them to train AI models or to build a competing product; or
- claim them as your own work.
Sharing with colleagues within your own school is absolutely fine — that’s what we’re for. If you’d like to do something bigger, such as distributing through a cluster or publisher, just ask us first.
5. Cheeky Kea and AI-generated content
- Cheeky Kea uses automated systems, including artificial intelligence, to draft resources from your requests.
- Generated content may contain errors. Always check the questions, answers, and curriculum fit yourself before using anything in the classroom. Professional judgement stays with you, the teacher.
- Don’t submit personal information (yours or anyone else’s — especially students’), confidential information, or content you don’t have the right to use.
- Resources generated for you are licensed to you on the same classroom terms set out above.
- We may review requests and generated outputs to operate, debug, and improve the service.
6. Intellectual property
The website, its design and text, and all resources (including generated ones) are owned by or licensed to Mana Maths and are protected by the Copyright Act 1994 and other intellectual property laws. Except for the classroom licence above, no rights are granted. The Mana Maths name, the jade twist logo, and the Cheeky Kea name are our branding — please don’t use them in a way that suggests endorsement without our permission.
7. Acceptable use
You must not:
- break any law or these terms;
- probe, attack, overload, or disrupt the service or its infrastructure;
- attempt to access other people’s accounts or data;
- scrape or bulk-download the site by automated means; or
- misrepresent who you are.
Cheeky Kea usage is subject to quotas so everyone gets a turn — please don’t try to get around them.
8. Disclaimers
The site and all resources are provided “as is” and “as available”. We work hard to make resources accurate and curriculum-aligned, but we don’t warrant that they are error-free, complete, or fit for a particular purpose. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986 that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by New Zealand law: we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss (including lost time, lost data, or lost savings) arising from your use of the site; and our total aggregate liability to you for anything relating to the service is limited to NZ$100. Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms occasionally. The current version always lives on this page with its date. If a change is significant we’ll do our best to flag it on the site, and your continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and the New Zealand courts have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute relating to them.
